Ray Herz Will the Real Miss Liberty Please Stand Up...And Take a Walk!
Who was the mystery woman who was the model for both of St. Gauden's gold coins as well as the Walking Liberty Half.  She had a 30-year working relationship with St Gaudens and Weinman but her name has largely been left out of numismatic reference until very recently.  In all she modeled for  seven or eight works between the two designers including St. Gauden's greatest monument – The Sherman Victory Monument in Central Park.  I discuss the mystery and how I uncovered it.  This is about 30-35 minutes.
Ray Herz The Future History of the Charlotte Mint Museum
During Hurricane IRMA we evacuated to a suburb of Charlotte and I got to visit the former Charlotte Mint Building, which has been North Carolina’s first art Museum since 1936.  This presentation looks at the history of the mint and mint building to now and also shows a few examples from its extensive collection. This is about 15 minutes.
Ray Herz Charles Barber’s Silver Coins
2017 marked the 125th Anniversary of the Birth of Charles Barber's Silver Coins, but nobody is taking notice.  These series do not get a lot of love but maybe they're worth a second look.  The 1/2 hour presentation will discuss who was Charles Barber and some of his other works, the birth of the three series, and grading and collecting by type and date. This is about 30 minutes. 
Ray Herz A Survey of Florida Paper Currency 1817-1935 (2 parts)

A profusely illustrated study of six classic series from the early 20th century in grades from MS-68 to AU-50.  All photos are of slabbed coins but the presentation is grading-service neutral.  The audience will see the commercial grading of coins.  Six different denominations in three different metals are covered.  This is about 40 minutes.

I took a (Mostly) walking tour of Philly in 2012 and have a profusely illustrated presentation including: The four (sites) of US Mints, The National Constitution Center, Independence Hall, Franklin's Building, The Betsy Ross House, City Hall, The Franklin Institute and More!  The sites include additional photos with numismatic tie-ins.  About 35 minutes.

The OTHER Works by a baker's dozen of prominent sculptors born in the 2nd half of the 19th century who greatly influenced coins and art in the late 19th and the first half of the 20th century.  We discuss artists from Augustus St. Gaudens, to Flanagan, MacNeil, Pratt, Brenner, Fraser, Keck, Beach, DiFransici, LG Fraser and More!  Other Works also include medals and large scale sculptures and works featuring Abraham Lincoln (because I originally presented this in 2009). The designers are covering in the order of BIRTH so we can see the influence as it cascades across two generations and over 100 years. About 45 minutes

This gold rush led to three branch mints in the south, national debates over states rights vs. federal authority vs native American rights leading to several supreme court cases, debates over hard money vs paper money and bank reforms and the bank of the US., mining rights and technology, and a host of other issues during the early days of the Republic.
